The Intro and Pilot episode

July 6th, 2009 by Greg Milk

Trying to get things up and running with the Show has been an avalanche of ideas and creativity over here for us. We got a theme song and a nice bio that seems a lot like a trailer to a TV show. Very impromptu but still gritty. The Fanpage over at Facebook is a go light green and we’re about to load the video over there and Mevio as we speak. the site is  http://aviewfromthespectrum.mevio.com

A View From The Spectrum in its infant stages…

July 4th, 2009 by Greg Milk

The new idea for the Podcast that will begin originated with me doing the Son-Rise program and wanting to make the show about that. But to expand my audience and not to exclude people who DON’T have children on the Spectrum,  I decided to do something a little more “All-Inclusive”so here it is so far….on the synopsis tipThis is a show about a Bay Area Dad Greg Milk who is the Father of 3Two on the Spectrum of Autism andOne teenager with a “different type” of special needsOh yeah andHusband to One WifeWhile that One wife works to support this adventure this dad is-a ring master of circus like entertainment-coordinator to a love based home programs to the two Autistic children on the Spectrum-He’s a counselor and friend to a quick flourishing teenager-And when time allows, tries to be the best husband he can be to One WifeWhile The Spectrum of Autism is the center of this Dad’s life, it is not the Master of it.There will always be challenges in life- but what you choose to believe about those challenges is up to youI just wanna share some of the stuff I’ve learned in the midst of my  challenges, Im a very happy detective and I’ve found that A View From the Spectrum is a Better Point of Viewwhaddaya think?

Game not Games

February 27th, 2009 by jgrado

My best friend has zero game. The guy has a really hard time talking to women, let alone approaching them. It isn’t that he’s bad looking or doesn’t have anything going for him, I think that he just gets nervous because he doesn’t know how he will be perceived.

I can’t help but feel bad for him. I’ve decided to help him out and get him a subscription to eHarmony.com. I thought it would be a good idea for him to set up a personal profile and hopefully find someone he connects with on a personal level prior to meeting them in person.

I was stoked because I came across a great eHarmony code that gets him one month for free! This way, if he doesn’t like it, it’s no big deal… I hope he can find someone and get over all these games these girls play with his head. I definitely think its worth a try.

Fender Bender

February 13th, 2009 by jgrado

A while back, I got into a fender bender. After I got the car into the shop, I had to get a rental car. What could have been a very unpleasant experience turned out to be not so bad at all. I went through BUDGET and everything worked out great. Along with the easy to work with staff, the company provided an excellent Chevy Impala that drove like a champ!

While waiting in line at the repair shop, I did a quick search on my i-phone and came across this Budget coupons. I was able to save $30 on my rental. The only I wish now is that the fender bender wasn’t my fault so I wouldn’t have had to pay for anything!

Oh well, life goes on. Thanks BUDGET rental

Seattle rain boots

December 15th, 2008 by jgrado

My friend is moving to Seattle next week. This means that I only have a week to find a Christmas present that is suitable for her. It’s not easy shopping for a female, not to mention I do not have any clue on buying fashion-related gifts.

Having only been on the west coast since January, I have yet to venture up to Seattle, let along learn much about the Washington city. I reviewed what was obvious: it rains, great music scene, home of companies like Microsoft and Starbucks.

I could have gone the path of a generic gift, but I felt that was lame. And in these times I believe its only worth purchasing items that are a necessity, not superfluous. Rain gear was what I figured would be appropriate, though I had to be certain that I was not treading unknown waters.

A raincoat sounds simple, but after going online, every fashion designer has his/her own rain- line. Since she wears a wide range of designers, I nixed that off my list. While purchasing a new pair of Converse Chuck’s (I lost my other pair while intoxicated), I did a search for “rain”. To my surprise, Finish Line had a decent selection of rain boots. Perfect! After doing a quick search for online deals, I came across one for 15% off $65+ on shoes online at FinishLine.com.

15% savings these days is killer. Shoe apparel has become a complex industry with too many brands and styles. Luckily the rain boot hasn’t changed drastically. There are those waterproof shoes, but for the amount of rain Seattle gets, you need to real thing. Let’s only hope that when I visit they’re not in the closet squeaky clean.

Here comes the Season 3 Audio

June 13th, 2008 by Greg Milk

Well now!! the Video season is all over and here we go into the Audio joint for The Weakest Beat.  I really gotta say that in so many ways Im torn as to how im feeling about it all.  I mean first thing that I wanna do is thank Jesus for even allowing me to pull this TWB thing off in the first place.  (you can refer to the Legend if you wish)

I was blessed that MEVIO believed enough in the Video idea, morphing from the audio show, to step up to the plate and fund the filming of the episodes.

It was a great experience.  I loved working with my hero and mentor and fellow autobot/decepticon Moodicon Glasgow (cause dis nigga can Transform just like me).

I cant say enough about my partner in video crime Ross Thomas who single handedly makes Greg Milk look so good behind a camera.  This guy helped me find the character called “Greg Milk.”  This guy whom I so belovedly called “Kung-Fu Kenny” has shared many long days and many meals, water, convienience store health food,  creative uplifts and the wales of lost footage to the cutting room floor of Podshow’s Executive producer.

I will always swear by you Kenny!! Your the absolute Eminem with the video cam.  And an absolute BEAST with the graphics!!!!! No one can stop you man!! LOVE YOU my Nig!

So while my brain is begining to shut down, I need to get you ready for who is gonna compete for the Season 2 audio.  The next time I get on here, I’ll tell ya’ll about the tragedy of the Season 2 audio bastards as they’re so amazingly called.  But while on the fumes of my mental, here’s who we got with their blurbs.

First off (my personal Favorite female producer)

Black Orchid

Black Orchid

Hello my name is  Black Orchid I am an aspiring
producer  residing in california and orgianally from Canada and  i think i
stand out for the simple fact that i am a female and though there are many
females in the music industry I don’t beleive that there is enough female
representation behind the scenes making hits for artists and i would like to
be the one to change all of that. I beleive my style of production is
unique, and doesnt sound like a lot of the music out today. I would very
much like to be a part of the competion and I am interested in the show that
is possibly being pitched. There are many female producers like myself
making crazy beats and not getting the shine like they should and I would
love to break down the walls and change all of that.

Dis Nigga Fyu-chur

Fyu-chur

I go by the producer name Fyu-chur. I am a Euphonic Creator from Lawton, Okla. I chose the name Fyu-chur (future) because it represents every aspect of what I do; from how I think, to where I think, to my style of production. I am a producer looking to change the style, format, and overall sound of music. I want, and determind to be the greatest producer ever. I feel in order to achive these ultra-high standards, one has to be dedicated beyond the norm, meaning always finding ways to improve your craft, comparing yourself against the Super-producers, never-ever taking a break because while your taking a break someone out there is improving themselve and I always want that someone to be myself. As a very competitive producer, I take any producer that’s good at what he does as a threat to the #1 title, it is very personal to me because I want nothing less than to be the best ever.

The man I call the “Crippler”..

SubStratum

SubStratum

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. in1973, Substratum has been immersed in Hip-Hop culture almost since its conception. “I began to DJ at the age of 12 and started producing at 16. I’ve come along way that’s for sure. From overdubbing on 2 tape decks, to 4 and then 8 track recording, to low-end digital and now to Pro Tools and Reason, it’s a path that people who start today will never know.” Substratum’s influences come from everywhere – old Funk, Soul and R&B to Rock to Reggae to the roots of Hip-Hop threw the golden years to now. “I just have a deep appreciation for “Good Music” and a true love for the art of Hip-Hop.”

Quis Beats

Quis Beats

Whats up ya’ll.  I go by Quis Beatz.  I’m from the rural foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in a small town called Waco, NC.  I’ve always loved music and took my first piano lesson at age 8. From then on I’ve played in various venues learning from playing in my grandpa’s church.  I started making instrumentals about four years ago after being a live musician most of my life.  I believe that I will learn a lot from this competition and showcase my talent at the same time.  If I give my best each and everytime there is no way I can lose.  Beatz!

Brooklyn’s Own

The BRONX BOMBERS

Bronx Bombers

the Bronx Bomberz consists of two guys from the Bronx who developed a love for making beats not too long ago.  The first of the two is XelaXela, born and raised in the Bronx was surrounded by the Hip Hop culture in his childhood and adolescence. As a result he embraced it, and began to write rhymes at a very young age. The writing soon developed into recording and performing. It was in his demo pushing days that he began to make beats, primarily for himself because he was tired of using other artist’s instrumentals to rap over. He and his cousin, Unbreakable started making beats as a hobby. It was here where these two aspiring beat makers became the producers known today as the Bronx Bomberz. The Bronx Bomberz have a distinct sound that sets them apart from any other producer in the game today. It is easy to see why they are referred to as the Bronx Bomberz; it is because when these two men go to work, it gets explosive.

crony44.jpg

My name is Adrian Croom and I’m from Austin, TX.  I’ve been making beatz for
9 years and have come all the way from zoom drum machines and tapes to
pro-tools and cds!  My sound is completely original, no samples (not even
drum samples).  I play piano and drums and compose soundtrack music for
movies.  I’m currently working on a movie on the east coast and making beatz
every night.

 Brain Child

I am Brain Child.
Im From Queens NY. I started making beats in 1996. I dont sample, everything I make is from the inside out…all me. Nothing against sampling old records though, when done right I love them, but that particular approach to making a beat just does’nt motivate or define me. Im into many types of music, and aspire to cater to many genre’s, but for right now im mostly doing; RnB, hiphop, and pop.

Ike

Hello my name is Isaac but feel free to call me “Ike”. I’m a higly driven 32 year old freelance studio-live audio engineer/ music producer orginally from Rome, NY currently residing in Chicago, IL for the past 6.5 yrs. I have been running recording sessions  and mastering tracks from my home studio for the past 2 yrs. I record various styles of music ranging from R&B, Hip hop, Gospel, Funk, and Rock to Folk, Classical, Reggae, Salsa and Mariachi. I really excited that I was able to send my beat submissions to “The Weakest Beat” because this is a time in my life where I have been pushing myself daily to get better as a producer and as a piano player. This experience will put my creativity and musicianship to the test over a period of time (being that I can make the first week…hahahhahaha). I know I was funny but I must take it seriously if I wanna stick around. Thanks for this Great Opportunity. Ike

logrhythmic

My name is Logrithmic which is short for Analog Rhythm and a Mic.
People call me Analog for short.  I’m from Washington Heights, New
York City.  I’ve been making beats as a hobby for a few years.  You
won’t find a synth sound or instrument in any of my beats.  I’m not
trying to “get on” or “get my beats placed” but this looked like a fun
challenge.  Why not?

The Legend

March 31st, 2008 by Greg Milk

The way that the whole Weakest Beat Saga began was back in 2005 I was a youth pastor in Vallejo California and went on sabbatical to re-evaluate my marriage and family life. something that my wife and I love to do is vibe off the show “Project Runway” http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway_1/index.shtml (just in case you didnt know). while watching this sow together, I lean to her and say,”This would really be a great show as music producers competing.” At this point my wife looked at me and said the most powerful words to me. She said, “I will be extrememly dissappointed in you, if you do not persue that until its a reality!” (many of you who saw Spiderman 2 and almost had a heart attack, when Mary Jane told Peter Parker after pledging his love for her and heard the police scanner go off- then was torn as to what to do -then she said “Go get em’ Tiger!!!’ -ya’ll can relate!!!

So My wife sent/released me to go for it. At the time I had no contacts in Hollywood or in the entertainment industry at all. I went to college with a dude that was a film major and now lives in LA. But even he is pacing back and forth along the wall of success waiting for a crack to open so that he can get in. I called him anyway and he loved the idea, even boating that he would watch it. (this would be the first of a million times that I would hear those words)

I then called a friend of mine who was going through a painful divorce, and walking away from the Christian music industry to do some consulting in the entertainment industry. He as well was very excited and loved the idea and suggested that I write a treatment for The Weakest Beat and register it with the Writers Guild of America. (He thought that this would deter me from following through, kinda like busy work) But I did it that same night and then called him back and said, “now what?”

Shocked and surprised, he then told me to begin to try creating a “buzz” concerning the show and to think about ways to do this. My friend Joe Snyder (Golden Gate Trucking) who was super excited about the show told me about this new medium of information spreading called “Podcasting.” Which at the time sounded really strange, still sounds strange, and I to this day, dont completely have my head around it.

Once i figured some of the basics out, I decided to build a “buzz” by having a music producer’s beat battle podcast. Then I had to come up with the prize, cause God knows I didnt have any money to give away. The only thing that I had was the hope of the manifestation of my dream. So I decided that whoever would win the online competition would be placed on the actual Reality TV show when it was picked up TO BE CONTINUED

TWB has arrived… We think

February 14th, 2008 by ndixon

This is really really weird to be doing this Blogging thing for the first time.  Its so much like the restaruant that you know so many people eat at and rave about, but you’ve just never actually gone in. .. Just drove by it and thought, ‘Ehhh’ one day maybe.

I Still dont know.  But I am Greg Milk of The Weakest Beat or so fondly called “TWB”and I host the show.  Before I go completely CRAZY with this I will find out If im doing it “write”.  So hold on a minute and Ill post more when Im de-virginized.
